The Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Long Beach woman for endangering the welfare of a child that occurred on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 10:14 a.m. in Merrick.
According to Police, a witness called 911 after discovering a five-month old baby boy left inside of a car located in front of HomeGoods, 1644 Merrick Road. The witness removed the child from the car and waited a few minutes, hopeful, for a parent to appear. When no one showed up the witness then called 911. Upon Police arrival, no one had returned for the child. Officers on scene called for an ambulance to evaluate the child. Defendant Caroline Salorilo, 34, of 23 Boyd Street arrived at the car and was placed into custody. A family member responded to scene to take custody of the child.
