
The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of five individuals during a Narcotics Investigation that occurred on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in Nassau County.
According to Narcotics/Vice Squad Detectives, multiple investigations were conducted in Nassau County. It was determined Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) was being sold at the following locations:
- Eastwind Exotic Vape Shop, 27 Jackson Avenue, Syosset. Saleh Mohammed Salem, 25, of 1035 North 5th Street, New Hyde Park and Shaafal Nasser Ali Ahmed, 41, of 1420 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn, were arrested at 3:00 pm without incident.
- Vaporville, 132 Woodbury Road, Hicksville. Matthew B. Flax, 45, of 9 Ellis Drive, Syosset, was arrested at 1:25 pm without incident.
- Vaporville, 132 Woodbury Road, Hicksville. Toby P. Flax, 74, of 55 Colony Lane, Syosset, was arrested at 12:30 pm without incident.
- 7 Leaf Clover, 92 Old Country Road, Westbury. Jennifer D. Babaian, 40, of 26 Pheasant Hill Lane, Glen Head, was arrested at 10:57 am without incident.
During a subsequent investigation, detectives also recovered a large quantity of cannabis at Eastwind Exotic Vape Shop, 27 Jackson Avenue, Syosset.
Defendant Saleh Mohammed Salem and Defendant Shaafal Nasser Ali Ahmed are charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and Criminal Possession of Cannabis 1st Degree. Defendant Matthew B. Flax is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree. Defendant Toby P. Flax and Jennifer D. Babaian are charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree.
They will be arraigned on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at First District Court, Hempstead.
