The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest a New Cassel man during an overdose investigation on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 7:10 pm in Westbury.

According to Narcotics/Vice Squad Detectives, an investigation into multiple overdoses of Nassau County residents, led to the arrest of Gerardo Magana, 24, of 200 State Street.

Police were investigating a fatal overdose and two non-fatal overdoses.

Narcotics/Vice Squad Detectives placed the defendant under arrest without incident and recovered pills believed to contain Fentanyl.

Defendant Gerardo Magana is charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3^rd Degree and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3^rd Degree.  He will be arraigned on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at First District Court, Hempstead.

Magana was previously arrested on 1/7/22 for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3^rd Degree, 1/13/22 for Criminal Mischief 3^rd Degree and 3/20/22 for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd Degree.   He was released without bail for all three arrests.
