The Seventh Squad reports the details of an auto accident that occurred on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 10:50 a.m. in Wantagh.
According to Detectives, Police responded to multiple 911 calls for a possible drunk driver at Campbell Road and Martin Drive in Wantagh. A short time later, a Nassau County Police Inspector observed a 2011 Nissan Sentra involved in an auto accident in the north bound lanes of Wantagh Avenue. The driver, Colin Cassidy, 29, of Wisteria Lane in Wantagh was holding an aerosol can of Dust Off to his nose and then briefly passed out. Officers then breached the driver door window in order to secure the vehicle and placed the defendant into custody without further incident. Three cans of aerosol were recovered from the defendant’s vehicle.
The defendant is charged with three counts of Leaving the Scene of an Incident, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree, and multiple VTL infractions. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at First District Court in Hempstead.
