The First Squad reports the arrest of two individuals for multiple Larcenies that occurred within the confines of Nassau County starting from June 2021.

According to Detectives, the arrest of Defendant Jose Castro, 41, and Defendant Lolita Carbajal, 44, both of 42 Banbury Court Amityville concluded an eleven-month investigation into the larceny of large clothing bins stolen from five locations throughout Nassau County; proceeds approximately $17,000.00 US currency.

The Defendants had control and access to rebrand the bins as their own, redistribute them to locations and would sell the donated clothing by the pound for a profit.  Additionally, Detectives were able to locate bins that had not been reported stolen and identify the original owners.  On June 15, 2022 Defendants Castro and Carbajal were taken into custody without incident at their residence.  

Defendant Jose Castro is charged with three counts of Grand Larceny 4^th Degree and three counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4^th Degree.  Defendant Lolita Carbajal is charged with two counts of Grand Larceny 4^th Degree and four counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4^th Degree.  Both Defendants were issued Appearance Tickets returnable on June 29, 2022 to First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
