
The First Squad reports the arrest of a Manhattan man for an Assault that occurred on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:23 pm in Merrick.
According to Detectives, First Precinct Officers responded to Marion Avenue for a call for a suspicious person who parked a black SUV at the location and was walking up and down multiple driveways. Upon arrival officers located a black SUV occupied by the defendant parked in front of 95 Marion Avenue. After a thorough investigation Officers were able to determine that the driver of the SUV, Emeka Chukwuneke, 35, of 400 East 30th Street, had three active Nassau County bench warrants. Officers attempted to place the defendant under arrest and he refused to comply with verbal commands. After resisting, he was eventually placed into Police custody.
As a result, an officer suffered lacerations and swelling to his left hand and was treated at a local hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Defendant Emeka Chukwuneke has been charged with Assault 2nd Degree, and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
