The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of two men for a disturbance that occurred on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at 3:19 am in Farmingdale.
According to Detectives, Nassau County Police Critical Intelligence Rapid Response Team (CIRRT) Officers observed a large group of males fighting in front of 247 Main Street. As the officers attempted to break up the fight one of the defendants, Jorge Ramirez Canales, 23, of 104 Albany Avenue, Amityville, punched an officer in the face. Defendant Canales continued to resist by flailing his arms and legs while officers placed him into police custody. The injured officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment. A second defendant, Jamal Beverly, 23, of 4 Oakley Avenue, Massapequa was initially observed fighting in the street and then was found unconscious in front of 274 Main Street. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and while at the hospital a substance believed to be Cocaine was found on him and was placed under arrest.
Defendant Canales is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Disorderly Conduct. He will be arraigned on Monday, June 20, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
Defendant Beverly is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree and Disorderly Conduct. He will be arraigned on Monday, June 20, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
Defendant Beverly was previously arrested on Monday, January 4th, 2021 for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree. He was released without bail.
