The Fifth Squad reports the details of an incident that occurred on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 1:40 a.m. in Elmont.
According to Detectives, Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a lawful Vehicle and Traffic Law stop, in front of 1560 Hempstead Turnpike, with a 2001 Black Nissan Altima that was traveling westbound on Hempstead Turnpike. Upon further investigation two individuals, George Williams, 43, of 38 E. Merrick Road in Freeport, and Casey Daus, 23, of 50 Abbey Street in Massapequa Park were placed under arrest. Officers recovered multiple clear plastic bags believed to contain Crack Cocaine and Heroin.
While Officers were attempting to place Defendant Williams under arrest, he ran away and failed to obey all verbal commands to stop. Defendant Williams was arrested after a foot pursuit. During the arrest of Defendant Williams one Officer injured his right hand and was treated at a local hospital for his injuries.
Defendant Williams is charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree, and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at First District Court in Hempstead.
Defendant Daus is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. Defendant Daus has two open Nassau County warrants: one for Pettit Larceny from September 10, 2021 and one for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree from March 28, 2022. Defendant was released on the prior charges and failed to show up for her court dates. She will be arraigned on all charges Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at First District Court in Hempstead.
Defendant Williams was previously charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree and released with no bail on April 14, 2022. On February 19, 2022 he was released on no bail and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree. On December 02, 2022 he was released with no bail and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree , Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree -Sale, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree. On March 22, 2022 he was released on an Appearance ticket and charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree, and Possession of Burglar’s Tools.
