Fifth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Queens woman for an incident that occurred on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 3:47 pm in Valley Stream.
According to detectives, officers responded to CVS located at 44 North Central Avenue for a disturbance. Upon their arrival, officers were informed that Jennifer Miles, 28, of 111-12 Springfield Boulevard, was involved in a dispute with store employees while working at this location. Miles threatened a male employee, 26, and a female employee, 19, with a knife placing them in fear of their safety. She then barricaded herself in the manager’s office, refusing to open the door. Officers requested assistance from the Emergency Services Unit and responding officers were eventually able to have Miles agree to come out of the room.
As police attempted to place her into custody, Miles punched an officer in the face. The officer sustained injuries as the defendant was violent and combative while resisting arrest. The officer was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
After officers were able to secure the defendant, a further investigation revealed that Miles had caused substantial damage to numerous items inside the store.
Defendant Jennifer Miles is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, two (2) counts of Menacing 2nd Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest. She will be arraigned on Friday, June 24, 2022 at First District Court in Hempstead.
