The First Squad reports the arrest of four individuals for an incident that occurred on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 1:47 am in Roosevelt.
According to Detectives, Bureau of Special Operations (BSO) Officers while on routine patrol observed a 2007 BMW fail to stop for a stop sign while traveling northbound on Park Avenue at the intersection of East Pennywood Avenue. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law Stop in front of 111 East Pennywood Avenue. As officers approached the vehicle on foot the vehicle fled the scene westbound on East Pennywood Avenue. Officers followed the vehicle onto the Southern State Parkway and a short distance later with the assistance of the New York State Police were able to conduct a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop on the Belt Parkway at the Merrick Road Exit. After a thorough investigation all four occupants of the vehicle, Leo Daley, 21, of 17507 140th Avenue, Jamaica, Daniel Barrow, 22, of 1140 East 43rd Street, Brooklyn, Kevin Faneus, 22, of 4200 Avenue K, Brooklyn and Carrie Claude, 21, of 345 Pennsylvania Avenue, Roosevelt were placed into Police custody without incident. A firearm and four pills believed to be Oxycodone Hydrochloride were recovered from the vehicle.
All four Defendants are charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. They will be arraigned on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
Defendant Leo Daly was previously arrested on May 12, 2022 and charged with Assault 3rd Degree, Attempted Assault 3rd Degree, menacing 3rd Degree, Harassment 2nd Degree and released on May 12, 2022 with no cash bail.
