The Arson Bomb Squad reports the details of a Fire that occurred at 9:05 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2022 in Westbury.
According to Detectives, Officers responded to a working house fire at 2369 Stewart Avenue. Upon arrival, Officers entered the home through a rear door to search for possible occupants. Four Officers were injured due to smoke inhalation and one Officer sustained a laceration to his left leg while searching the home. All injured Officers were transported to a local area hospital for treatment and evaluation. There were no other injuries reported and no occupants were in the home. Westbury Fire Department responded and was assisted by approximately five other local Departments to extinguish the fire. Nassau County Fire Marshall was on scene.
The fire is not considered suspicious at this time and is currently under investigation.
