The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Roosevelt woman for an Assault that occurred on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 2:20 am in Syosset.

According to Detectives, Second Precinct Police Officers responded to a disturbance at 31 Greenvale Lane. Upon arrival officers located a 31-year-old female victim and the defendant, Karla Velasquez, 24, of 43 Horace Avenue in the rear of the location. The defendant had been observed by the victim rummaging through a shed in her backyard. The victim told the defendant to leave the property, the defendant refused and kicked the victim in her stomach and bit her finger. Officers placed the defendant into police custody and an officer sustained injuries during the course of the arrest as the defendant was violent and combative while resisting arrest. The officer, defendant and victim were all transported by Nassau County Police Department Ambulances to local hospitals for treatment.

Defendant Velasquez is charged with Assault 2^nd Degree, Assault 3^rd Degree, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Trespass 3^rd Degree. She will be arraigned on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
