The Fifth Squad Detectives report the arrest of two males for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 6:30 pm in Elmont.   

According to detectives, Fifth Precinct Officers were assisting members of the Nassau County Probation Department conduct a night watch probation check at an Elmont residence located at 736 Meacham Avenue.  While inside the residence, Nassau County Probation Officers recovered a loaded Glock 43X handgun, a fraudulent Texas driver’s license, fraudulent United States of America passport and a fraudulent HSBC credit card.  Marvens Chery, 23, of 736 Meacham Avenue and Daniel J. Depeine, 24, of 2712 NW 200 Ter, Miami Gardens, Florida, were both placed into police custody.

Marvens Chery is charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2^nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2^nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 3^rd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Personal ID 3^rd Degree.  

Daniel J. Depeine is charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2^nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th Degree. Both defendants will be arraigned on Thursday, July 14^th 2022 at First District Court in Hempstead.
