Third Squad Detectives report the arrests of two (2) Hempstead residents for a Robbery that occurred on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 8:40 pm in Westbury.
According to detectives, a male and female entered Olivia’s Laundromat located at 535 Old Country Road to do laundry. The male told a female employee, 42, the change machine did not dispense quarters after he inserted his money. The employee explained a refund would be sent through the mail. The male became angry because he could not get his money immediately. The employee removed herself to an area that had “For Employees Only” posted on the door. The subject opened the door and entered the room. The male pushed the employee and a struggle ensued before he removed $20 from her hand. The male and female fled the scene in a white 2022 Acura.
A thorough investigation was conducted which led to the arrest of William Solarzano, 18, of 400 Fulton Avenue and Jennifer Coreas, 24, of 213 Dartmouth Street.
Defendant Solarzano and Coreas is charged with Robbery 2nd Degree. Solarzano has an additional charge of Burglary 3rd Degree. They will be arraigned on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at First District Court, Hempstead.
