The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of a Queens female for a Robbery that occurred on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 10:15 am in Bethpage.

According to detectives, Defendant Lexus K. Hughes, 31, of 11466 198^th Street, entered the

7-11 located at 497 Stewart Avenue. A 47-year-old male employee recognized Hughes, whom he knew to be involved in prior shoplifting incidents at the store and approached her. Hughes became verbally aggressive and physically combative.  She displayed a box cutter in a threatening manner, putting the victim in fear of his life. Hughes then proceeded to remove merchandise from the store shelves and passed all points of final purchase before fleeing the scene. Subsequent to the investigation, Defendant Hughes was located and placed under arrest without further incident. No injuries were reported.

Defendant Lexus K. Hughes is charged with Robbery 1^st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th Degree, Menacing 2^nd Degree and has an active Nassau County bench warrant. She will be arraigned on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.

Defendant Hughes was previously arrested on April 21, 2021 for Petit Larceny and released without bail.
