The First Squad reports the arrest of an East Meadow man for a Burglary that occurred in East Meadow on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 6:45 PM.
According to Detectives, First Precinct Officers responded to a 2nd Street residence for a residential burglary alarm. Upon arrival, the victim and officers reviewed surveillance video which showed, Philip Dayton, 29, of 2125 Stuyvesant Avenue, breaking a window and then entering the residence through that window. Once inside the residence the defendant took multiple items, including three credit cards. He then attempted to use one of the credit cards a short time after he left the residence. After a thorough investigation, officers located the defendant on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 12:30 AM in East Meadow and placed him into custody.
The defendant is charged with Burglary 2nd degree, Burglary 3rd degree, Identity Theft 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree, and Attempted Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, August 1, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
