The Major Case Bureau-Robbery Squad reports the arrest of a Queens Village man for a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 6:15 am in Bellerose Terrace.According to Detectives, defendant Anthony Yates, 54, of 113-19 210th Street, entered Its Lit Smoke Shop located at 225-06 Jamaica Avenue with two additional suspects and forced a 36-year-old male employee into a back room. While in the back room the defendant threatened to shoot the victim and then placed him in handcuffs. The defendant restrained the victim while the additional subjects placed assorted store merchandise and money from the stores cash register and safe into a large bag. The three subjects fled to a waiting vehicle being operated by an unknown subject to an unknown location.After a thorough investigation the defendant was located at 400 East 30th Street, Manhattan, and was placed under arrest without incident.Detectives request anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.Anthony Yates is charged with Robbery 2nd Degree and Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, September 30, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
