County Executive Bruce A. Blakeman and Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder announce “Operation Safe Streets” as we approach the upcoming Holiday Season. This initiative will focus on education of the public and enforcement to ensure the safety of all individuals that travel on our roadways, as some of the crimes and violations below can lead to other criminal activity.

After the press conference at 10:30AM, Police Officers will conduct a Safety Check Point on Merrick Ave, East Meadow identifying some of the below listed infractions and violations.
•    Illegal paper license plates
•    Misuse of Dealer or Transporter license plate
•    Obstructed license plates
•    Defaced license plates
•    Tinted windows
•    Seatbelt violations
