Third Squad Detectives report the arrest of a New Cassel man for an Assault that occurred on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 5:50 pm in New Cassel.
According to detectives, two males had an argument in the vicinity of 846 Prospect Avenue.  The dispute escalated when the subject stabbed the male victim, 50, in the chest and fled the scene.  Officers responded and located the victim.  He was transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation.
A thorough investigation was conducted and Emilio Cruz-Yanes, 59, of 814 Roman Avenue was arrested without incident.
Defendant Cruz-Yanes is charged with Assault 1st Degree.  He will be arraigned on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at First District Court, Hempstead.
