The Arson Bomb Squad reports the details of a commercial fire that occurred on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 9:35 pm in Farmingdale.
According to detectives, officers responded to a fire at the Café Labella located at 180 Merritts Road. Upon arrival, officers observed the business to be engulfed in flames. The South Farmingdale Fire Department along with the Bethpage, Village of Farmingdale and Massapequa Fire Departments responded and extinguished the flames. Approximately 50 firefighters were on scene. The business unit suffered moderate damage from the fire. The three (3) adjoining business units suffered from smoke and water damage. Arson/Bomb Squad Detectives and Fire Marshals responded to the scene. Arson Bomb Squad is investigating the fire and find it suspicious in nature at this time.
