The Third Squad reports on a Grand Larceny that occurred on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 3:54 AM in Hempstead.
According to Detectives, Third Precinct Officers were on routine patrol on Franklin Avenue near the intersection of Old Country Road in Mineola when they observed two vehicles traveling northbound on Franklin Avenue with no license plates. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop on a 2019 grey Chrysler 300 and a dark colored sedan. The unknown black male operator of the Chrysler 300 immediately exited the vehicle and entered into the sedan with unknown occupants and fled the scene traveling eastbound on Old Country Road. An investigation resulted in the grey Chrysler having been stolen from the Seamless Auto store, located at 189 North Franklin Street, Hempstead earlier in the morning. Investigation is ongoing.
