Major Case Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Freeport man for a robbery that occurred on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 4:13 pm in Uniondale.
According to Robbery Squad Detectives, Shaun Williams, 52, of 67 Hillside Avenue, entered BP Gas Station located at 1198 Front Street. Once inside, the defendant made a small purchase, exited the location and entered the passenger’s side of a grey SUV. At this time, an unknown male (not yet apprehended) exited the driver’s seat and entered the store. The subject passed a demand note to the clerk who questioned the subject’s actions. The subject lifted his jacket and shirt to display a handgun, located in his waistband. The victim complied and the subject fled the store with an undisclosed amount of US currency. The subject entered the passenger’s side of the vehicle as Shaun Williams was now located in the driver’s seat and fled the scene southbound on Chester Street.
It was also determined the same subjects were responsible for a robbery that occurred on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 10:20 pm in Hempstead. Williams and the unknown male entered 7-Eleven located at 66 S. Franklin Street, when Williams approached the clerk and passed a demand note. The female victim made multiple attempts to open the register with no success. A male customer entered the store, and the two men fled the scene.
No injuries were report.
Williams is charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Robbery 2nd Degree for the December 22, 2022, incident. Williams is charged with Robbery 2nd (Attempt) for the January 5, 2023, incident. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at First District Court, Hempstead.
