The Public Information Office reports the arrest of an Island Park man for a robbery that occurred on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 12:52 pm in North Long Beach.
According to police, officers responded to a 911 call for a disturbance in the parking lot of Ace Hardware located at 3965 Long Beach Road. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male subject removed merchandise from the store without making a payment.  The subject kicked the store employee when he was confronted and fled the scene.
After a thorough investigation, officers located Albert Garfield, 57, of 5 Sheridan Place and he was placed into custody without incident.
No injuries were reported.
Defendant Garfield is charged with Robbery 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree and Petit Larceny. He will be arraigned on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in First District Court, Hempstead.
