According to Detectives, a female victim, 85, while inside her North Hills residence using her computer, received a prompt to call a phone number. She called and spoke to an unknown male claiming to work for Microsoft. The male instructed her to go to her local bank branch and transfer $49,000 (U.S.) to another bank account that he had provided the information for. After the transfer was completed, the unknown male instructed the victim to send a copy of her driver’s license and the bank receipt of the transfer to a phone number that he provided.
