The Major Case Bureau reports the details of two (2) Robberies that occurred on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 1:59 am in West Hempstead.
According to Robbery Squad Detectives, three subjects entered 7-11, located at 136 Hempstead Turnpike. Once inside, the subjects entered the area behind the counter and began to remove an unknown amount of US currency from the cash register draws. One of the subjects pointed a black handgun at the clerk and searched his pockets. All three subjects fled the store on foot northbound on Westminster Avenue. There were four customers present at the time of the robbery and no injuries were reported.
The three subjects then entered 7-11, located at 310 Hempstead Avenue. The subjects jumped over the counter and removed an unknown amount of US currency from the cash register draws. One of the subjects pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded she open the safe, which the clerk was unable to do. All three subjects fled on foot and left in a vehicle which was parked on Sycamore Street. No customers were present and there were no injuries reported.
All three subjects are described as male blacks, wearing dark sweatshirts, dark pants and dark face masks.
