The Third Squad reports the arrest of two New Cassel men for Robbery that occurred on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 1:50 am in Westbury.
According to detectives, a 55 year old male victim was walking westbound on Butler Street when he was approached by two unknown male subjects. The subjects displayed a knife and began beating the victim about the head and body knocking him to the ground. The subjects then took the victims’ cell phone and wallet containing an undetermined amount of US currency and personal papers. The subjects fled the scene on foot towards Post Avenue. Third Precinct Officers responding to the scene observed two subjects on Union Avenue and Sullivan Lane fitting the description of the above. After an investigation officers placed under arrest defendants Erving Pierre-Louis, 18, of 199 State Street and Kevin Franklin, 19, of 1020 Broadway. A knife was recovered on Union Avenue. The victim refused medical attention.
Both defendants are being charged with Robbery 1st Degree and 2 counts of Robbery 2nd Degree. Defendant Franklin has an additional charge of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree. They will be arraigned on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at First District Court, Hempstead.
