The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Saint Albans man for Possession of a Forged Instrument that occurred on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 6:00 pm in East Garden City.
According to detectives, Steven Jackson, 23, of 114-67 197th Street entered Neiman Marcus located at 620 Old Country Road and purchased merchandise valued at $595.00. It was determined that the credit card used for the purchase was fraudulent. When loss prevention attempted to apprehend the defendant he fled from Neiman Marcus into the mall. After a brief foot pursuit the defendant was apprehended and police were called. During the foot pursuit the defendant damaged a sliding door in the mall. The defendant was found to be in possession of three additional fraudulent credit cards.
Jackson is charged with four (4) counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, May 27, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
