The Third Squad reports the arrest of two females for an incident that occurred on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 6:26 PM in East Garden City.

According to Detectives, an officer while in his patrol vehicle was struck by a female operating a White Honda Accord exiting a parking spot in the Roosevelt Field Mall parking garage located at 630 Old Country Road. When the officer exited his vehicle and approached the defendant Shaquanna Gibbs, 26, of 79 Eddy Road, Roosevelt, she attempted to flee the scene striking the officer’s arm with her vehicle. 

A short time later, officers located the vehicle and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop when the subject stuck the curb disabling her vehicle. The defendant and the passenger were placed under arrest and transported to a local area hospital for evaluation. The officer was also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

Further investigation revealed the defendant Shaquanna Gibbs and the passenger Kyla Mason, 28, of 261 South Franklin Avenue, Hempstead were found to be in possession of stolen property. 

Defendant Shaquanna Gibbs is charged with Assault 2^nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5^th Degree, and multiple VTL violations. She will be arraigned on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead. Defendant Kyla Mason is charged with Possession of Stolen Property 5^th Degree and was released on an appearance ticket.
