The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Hollis man for an incident that occurred on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in Herricks.
According to detectives, Third precinct officers responded to 255 North Street for a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was determined that the defendant, Saj Shahriar, 47, of 8934 199th Street, was trying to change the locks to the North Street residence and claimed to have a rental lease to the property. After a thorough investigation it was determined the subject had no legal rights to the property and he was placed under arrest without incident. The investigation is ongoing.
Defendant Shahriar is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and Forgery 2nd Degree. He was arraigned on Saturday, September 13 at First district Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
