The Arson/Bomb Squad is investigating a fire that occurred on Tuesday, February 03, 2015 at 6:00 a.m. in Hicksville.
According to detectives, a Second Precinct officer responded to Chestnut Street where he observed smoke coming from the northwest bedroom of the home. There were four people in the home at the time of the fire that were able to exit the home on their own. Hicksville Fire Department responded with approximately ten apparatus and 100 firefighters to extinguish the fire. All four residents were transported to an area hospital by Hicksville Fire Department ambulance. A male, 50 was treated for minor injuries and released, while two females are being treated for smoke inhalation and a third female is being treated for burns and smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
