Arson/Bomb Squad detectives report the details of a house fire that occurred in Sea Cliff on Thursday, 12/18/14 at 12:27 P.M.
According to detectives, Third Precinct Police officers responded to a house fire located at 88 Prospect Ave. in Seacliff. The unoccupied home was in the process of being restored. Workers discovered the fire as they were removing paint on the second floor of the residence. Sea Cliff, Glen Cove, Glenwood Landing, Roslyn, East Norwich, Bayville, Oyster Bay, and Locust Valley Fire Departments responded with twenty trucks and approximately 100 fire personnel to extinguish the fire. Four firefighters sustained minor injuries as a result of the fire. Two were treated and released at the scene and the other two were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The home sustained major damage. The fire has been deemed accidental and non-suspicious.
