The Major Case Bureau, Crimes Against Property Squad reports the arrest of a Manhattan woman for an Attempted Grand Larceny that occurred on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2:45 p.m. in New Hyde Park.
According to detectives, Sabrina L. Spencer, 47 of 55 W. 110th Street entered the Chase Bank located at 350 Hillside Avenue and presented a forged withdrawal slip in an attempt to withdraw money from a female victim’s account. Spencer also presented a fraudulent New Jersey driver’s license and Bank of America Master card as identification. While the bank manager was verifying the identity of the account holder Spencer exited the bank. Responding Third Precinct officers located the defendant hiding behind the garage of home on N. 2nd street. As the officers attempted to place Spencer under arrest she began flailing her arms and kicking the officers refusing to be handcuffed. After a brief time the officers were able to secure the defendant.
Spencer is charged with Grand Larceny (Attempt) 3rd degree, three counts of Possessing of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, Identity Theft 1st degree, and Resisting Arrest. She will be arraigned on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
