The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of a Massapequa man for Menacing which occurred on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:31 a.m. in Massapequa.
According to detectives, Seventh Precinct officers responded to Wal-Mart located at the Sunrise Mall for a man with a knife. Upon their arrival they observed the defendant Brian L. Huber, 23 of 23 Plymouth Drive in the hardware aisle opening packages with a folding hunting knife. As the officers attempted to place Huber under arrest he began to fight causing the officers to fall into the shelving in the aisle. He broke away from the officers and fled the mall. He was then seen entering Sears through the merchandise pick up area. A Sears’s employee approached Huber who produced the knife and threatened him. The defendant fled the store but was located in the parking lot by additional responding officers. After a brief struggle they were able to place him under arrest. The knife as well as an X-Box and batteries were recovered from the defendant. There were no injuries reported.
Huber is charged with Menacing 2nd degree, Petit Larceny, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned at on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
