The Nassau County Police Ambulance Bureau reports the details of life saving incident which occurred on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 7:36 A.M. in Hicksville.
According to detectives, a 911 call was received from a Michigan Drive home for a 19 year old male, not breathing due to an overdose. The mother of the aided had a Narcan Rescue kit at home but was unable to assemble it. The call was transferred to Nassau County Medical Control where a Paramedic was able to talk the mother through assembling the kit and administering a dose of Narcan to the aided. A Nassau County ambulance arrived at 7:41 A.M. and, after administering an additional dose of Narcan to the aided, transported him, conscious and alert, to an area hospital for treatment.
