The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Merrick man for grand larceny that occurred in Valley Stream beginning Wednesday, 04/06/16 at 2:49 P.M.
According to detectives, James Caban, 56, of 1933 Newell Rd., entered the Nassau County Educators Federal Credit Union located 264 E. Merrick Rd., on two occasions, used fraudulent lines of credit and checks from a closed account to withdraw $19,500.
Crimes Against Property Squad detectives arrested Caban on Monday, 05/23/16. He is being charged with two counts of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, two counts of Issuing Bad Checks, and multiple VTL charges from a previous incident (open warrant). Caban is being arraigned on Tuesday, 05/24/16 in First District Court, Hempstead.
