The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of two women for Possession of a Forged Instrument on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 8:45 P.M. in East Garden City.
According to Crimes Against Property detectives, Third Precinct officers were notified by Roosevelt Field security of two female Hispanics passing counterfeit bills. Eskarlin Pena, 18, no known address and Marywil Gomez, 16, of 975 Walton Avenue, Bronx entered Vera Bradley located at 630 Old Country Road and made purchases using counterfeit $100 dollar bills. Third Precinct officers located the defendants and placed them under arrest without incident. Pena was found to be in possession of three additional $100 dollar counterfeit bills and Gomez was in possession of four additional $100 dollar counterfeit bills. No injuries were reported.
Pena is charged with five (5) counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st degree and Gomez is charged with six counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st degree. They will be arraigned on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
