The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of a New Jersey man for Attempted Murder that occurred in Glen Cove on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 10:57 am.
According to detectives, The Glen Cove Police Department was notified that shots were fired at the parking garage located at 200 Carney Street. Upon police arrival they observed the defendant Troy Timmons, 48, of 161 Bordentown Crosswicks, Chesterfield running from the garage and carrying a handgun. After a brief foot pursuit Glen Cove Police Officers were able to place the defendant Troy Timmons into police custody without incident. The handgun was also recovered. A subsequent investigation revealed that multiple shots were discharged inside the garage and a 47 year old male victim was discovered suffering from serious injuries. The victim was grazed in the face by a bullet and had additional trauma to his head and face. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in serious / critical condition. The defendant was transported as well and was treated for shortness of breath.
The defendant Troy Timmons is charged with Murder 2nd Degree (Attempt) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
