The Major Case Bureau is investigating an Attempted Robbery that occurred on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:08 am in Roosevelt.
According to Robbery Squad detectives, 911 received a call from New York Taxi, that one of their drivers had reported that he was involved in an attempted robbery. The 43 year old male victim was dispatched to pick up 1 female passenger at 70 Harts Avenue. The victim arrived at the location and observed two male subjects walk out of the front yard and approach the taxi. Subject # 1 opened the rear drivers’ side door, pointed a small black revolver and demanded money. Subject # 2 opened the rear passenger door; entered the taxi and also pointed a small black revolver at the victim. The victim then pressed on the gas pedal in an attempt to escape and as he drove away heard one gunshot. Subject # 2 jumped out of the moving taxi and the victim was able to drive away. There were no injuries or proceeds.
Subject # 1 is described as a male black, thin build, young in age, with short black hair, brown eyes, wearing a blue pull over hooded sweatshirt and dark colored jeans. Subject # 2 is described as a male black, thin build, young in age, short black hair, brown eyes, wearing a black zippered hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.
