The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of two individuals from Hempstead on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 3:35pm in Hempstead.
According to Narcotics/Vice Squad Detectives, Nassau County Police received information regarding illegal drug activity being conducted from an apartment residence located at 153 Main Street, one block from First District Court. Detectives initiated an extensive investigation that concluded with the execution of a legal search warrant on September 2, 2016 resulting in the recovery of approximately 89 grams of cocaine, approximately 15 grams of heroin, 42 amphetamine tablets; an assortment of MDMA, crystal methamphetamine, Xanax and Oxycodone tablets; a defaced 40. caliber Desert Eagle semi-automatic pistol and a .9 mil Taurus P111 semi-automatic pistol and the arrest of the following individuals: defendant Oswaldo A. Almonte, 40, of 153 Main Street was located and arrested at 121 Bedell Street at 3:35pm and defendant Yadira Geronimo De La Rosa, 27, also of 153 Main Street was arrested at her apartment without incident at 4:00pm.
Both Defendants are each charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree. Additionally Defendant Almonte is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and Defendant Geronimo De La Rosa is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree. Both Defendants were arraigned on Saturday, September 3, 2016 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
