The Gang Investigations Squad reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man at 7:20pm on Friday, September 9, 2016 for an Assault that occurred in Uniondale.
According to Detectives, the male victim, 34, was in a vehicle with four individuals in front of 865 Henry Street Uniondale when he was assaulted and ordered out of the vehicle. At that time, the defendant pointed a handgun at the victim, the victim attempted to grab the gun, the defendant fired a shot striking the victim. A second subject removed the victim’s cellular telephone and pushed him onto the street. The subjects then fled the scene. An unknown passerby called the police for medical assistance and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
The Gang Investigations Squad, First Squad Detectives and the NYPD Firearms Investigations Unit assisted in the arrest of Richard Michel, 36, of 1188 Utica Avenue Brooklyn at the corner of Brooklyn Avenue and Empire Boulevard Brooklyn. He is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree. He was arraigned in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
