The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Lynbrook man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 10:46 p.m. in East Rockaway.
According to detectives, Fourth Precinct patrol officers responded to Dairy Barn, located at 560 Atlantic Avenue for a suspicious male who was in the parking lot. Upon arrival at the scene a male matching the description fled on foot northbound through backyards on Denton Avenue. A foot pursuit ensued and officers alerted Lynbrook Police for assistance. A short time later Lynbrook Officers located the suspect, identified as Andrew Ardison Gardner, 27, of 107 Prospect Avenue, near the corner of Phipps Avenue and Davison Plaza. They were able to place him under arrest in a rear yard of Phipps Avenue. An investigation revealed Gardner was been in possession of a loaded Sig Sauer .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun which had been reported stolen from Pennsylvania.
Gardner is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, September 17, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
