The Major Case Bureau reports the details of a Bank Robbery which occurred on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 2:08 p.m. in Merrick.
According to Robbery Squad detectives, a male black suspect wearing black pants and a gray t-shirt entered the Bank of America located at 2020 Merrick Road and handed a demand note to a teller. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were two employees and no customers in the bank at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.

Robbery Squad detectives report the arrest of Omar Acosta, 35, of 11 Hale Place, Roosevelt, on Tuesday, 09/20/16, in connection with the above listed robbery and for a burglary that he committed on Tuesday, 05/31/16 at The Barn located at 241 Hempstead Ave. in Lynbrook. The defendant is being charged with Robbery 3rd Degree, Burglary 3rd Degree and will be arraigned on Wednesday, 09/21/16 in First District Court, Hempstead.
