The Third Squad reports the arrests of a two men on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 1:15pm for a Grand Larceny that occurred throughout Nassau County.
According to Detectives, between September 29, 2015 and September 21, 2016 the defendants had entered fourteen CVS stores located throughout Nassau County and removed merchandise without the authority to do so, causing a monetary loss which exceeded $3000.00 US currency. A loss prevention officer (who had prior knowledge of the numerous larcenies) observed defendant Gavriel Charalambous, 28, of 5 Booth Lane Levittown as he entered a CVS located in Massapequa. The Police were notified and the investigation led to the arrest of the defendant at another CVS located at 2419 Hempstead Turnpike East Meadow. As the investigation continued defendant Frank Merlo, 29, of 1491 Wantagh Avenue 1st Floor Wantagh was arrested at his residence at 1:55am on Thursday, September 22, 2016. Defendants Charalambous and Merlo are each charged with one count of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree. They will be arraigned on Thursday, September 22, 2016 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
