The First Squad reports the arrest of a Long Beach man for Robbery that occurred in Freeport on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 12:55 pm.
According to detectives, a 44 year old male victim was walking north on S. Main Street when he observed the defendant Khaliek Stewart, 21, of 51 Georgia Avenue riding a black /yellow bicycle along with an unidentified male subject riding the victim’s red bicycle without permission. When the victim confronted the two men in attempt to get his bike back Stewart swung his bicycle striking the victim in his face causing him to fall on the ground. The two men began punching and kicking the victim numerous times causing a broken nose and contusions to his face. Khaliek Stewart then fled on his bicycle south on S. Main. The unidentified male described as being black, 20 years of age, average build, blue hat, grey hooded sweat shirt fled on foot south on S. Main Street. Freeport Police Officer’s responded and a short time later they located the defendant in the Home Depot Parking Lot located at 160 E. Sunrise Highway and placed him into police custody. The victim was transported in a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. Further investigation revealed that Khaliek was in possession of 6 Alprazolam pills. The other subject was not located. The investigation is ongoing.

Khaliek Stewart is charged with Robbery 1st, 2 counts of Robbery 2nd, Assault 2nd, Criminal Possession stolen Property 5th, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.
