The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man for Grand Larceny which occurred in Great Neck.
According to Crimes Against Property Squad detectives, defendant Darnell Smith, 28 of 820 Knickerbocker Avenue booked an event to be held at Leonard’s Palazzo located at 555 Northern Boulevard. The event was held on June 13, 2015 and the defendant wrote a fraudulent check in the amount of $12, 220.31 to be paid to the catering hall. The check was denied due to the account numbers being fraudulent.
Detectives located Smith Wednesday, October 13, 2016 at New York City probation and placed him under arrest.
Smith is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd degree and Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, October 14, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
