The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Queens Village man on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 6:15 pm for Criminal Possession and Sale of a Controlled Substance.
According to Narcotics Vice Squad detectives and with the assistance of the Fifth Squad an investigation involving the defendant Rashad Salamalay, 23, of 9007 215th Place was being conducted for being responsible for an overdose to a Nassau County resident and for possessing heroin with the intent to sell it in Westbury. On Tuesday, October 18, 2016 the defendant Salamalay was arrested as he exited his home by Narcotics Vice Squad detectives and found to be in possession of heroin. He was placed into custody without incident. Further investigation revealed he was in possession of 100 bags of heroin.
Rashad Salamalay is charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.
