The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Cambria Heights man for Grand Larceny which occurred on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 12:38 p.m. in Floral Park.
According to Crime Against Property Squad detectives, Javis J. Mclean, 22, entered the Capital One Bank located at 170 Tulip Avenue and attempted to withdraw money from an account he had opened online. It was discovered that between October 1, 2016 and October 15, 2016 two checks were deposited into the defendants account in the amount of $8400 from an 82 year old female victim who sent him the checks after she was led to believe she won a lottery. Floral Park police were notified and placed the defendant under arrest without incident.
Mclean is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd degree and will be arraigned on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
