The Major Case Bureau reports the details of an arrest for a reckless endangerment that occurred in Plainview on Friday, 02/05/16 at 2:00 A.M.
According to Crimes Against Property Squad detectives, a male juvenile, 15, of Queens, falsely made a call to the Second Precinct, located in Woodbury, on the above listed date and time, claiming that his father was shot and his mother was tied up, at a residence on Sunnyside Blvd. This location has had several false calls over the last few years, requiring emergency police responses, and it was determined to be ‘swatting’ events. Subsequent investigation by Crimes Against Property Squad detectives, in conjunction with the Bergen County New Jersey Prosecutors office, the NYPD, and Homeland Security, it has been determined that this juvenile defendant is involved in several hundred swatting cases across the United States.
Crimes Against Property Squad detectives arrested the juvenile defendant on Thursday, 11/10/16 at the Second Squad. He is being charged with Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, and two counts of Falsely Reporting an Incident.
