The Fifth Squad reports an arrest for Robbery which occurred on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 9:20 pm in Franklin Square.
According to detectives, a male entered the Exxon Gas Station located at 1111 Hempstead Turnpike wearing a black ski mask and demanded the clerk give him money by threatening to hurt him. The clerk complied giving the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled the scene and was seen entering a vehicle by a witness. That witness observed the vehicles license plate and provided that information to police. After an investigation the vehicle was located parked in front of 1159 Russell Street. The defendant, identified as Nicholas Piorkowski, 19, of 1159 Russell Street, Franklin Square, was seen exiting the vehicle and was taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of two glassine envelopes of heroin during arrest processing. No injuries were reported.
Piorkowski is charged with Robbery 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree. He will be arraigned on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at First District Court in Hempstead.
