The Fugitive Squad reports two arrests for Fugitive from Justice on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Bellmore.
According to detectives, members of the U.S. Marshalls R.F.T.F. located and arrested Dekethia Harris, 39, of 700 Simpson Road, Anderson, South Carolina and Jamel Jenkins, 38, of 700 Simpson Road, Anderson, South Carolina. After becoming aware of an outstanding warrant for the two defendants, an investigation led detectives to 700 Evelyn Avenue, North Bellmore, where they were placed under arrest without incident. The two fled South Carolina after a child was abused and hospitalized there. The underlying charges of the warrant are “Abuse/Parent, guardian, other allowing another person to inflict great bodily harm upon a child.” Two children travelling with the suspects were taken to an area hospital for evaluation. No further details of the incident are available at this time.
The defendants are charged with Fugitive from Justice and will be arraigned on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead. They will be extradited as soon as practical.
